About MRSHLL
MRSHLL is a South Korean-American K-pop singer, songwriter, and rapper born and raise in New York City to parents who immigrated from South Korea. MRSHLL debuted as a solo artist with his first single Her in 2015. Since then, he has released singles every few months and has collaborated with notable artists such as Jay Park, Dean, and Crush. Through extensive collaborations, social media posts, and songs like ‘I’ve Fallen,’ which break cultural boundaries by blending various styles of music, MRSHLL has gained quite a bit of recognition within both Korea and internationally.
To put things into perspective for all you K-Pop fans out there, he currently has more than 10 million views on YouTube compared to other famous Korean artists with around 100 million views or more (think IU). So yeah — majorly underrated artist. His real name is Marshall Bang. Not entirely fluent in English but understands some words. His mother owns an organic nail shop. His dad owned a barbershop called Fade Street Barbers. He graduated high school at 16 years old. I was part of Grammy Music Academy.

His name is an acronym for Marshall Bang, and his birth name is Marshall Hong. He was born in Los Angeles, California, and moved to Seoul, South Korea, when he was ten years old. He was six years old. His mother enroll him in piano lessons and learned to play guitar at 11 years old. He became active in music and dance clubs in high school, which laid a foundation for his K-pop career. After graduating from college with a degree in Korean Language Studies, Mrshll debuted as an R&B singer for several Korean hip hop artists before going solo as a mrshll kpop singer.
He has since then performed on tours all over Asia and released his first full album, My Summer Vacation, in November. Marshall is one of the most famous K-pop stars you haven’t heard of. Marshall bang was into basketball at first
According to his high school’s alumni news, Bang was a talented basketball player for Junggu High School. He decid to drop out of high school when one of his friends asked him to join a band. While his label, Big Hit Entertainment, provides him with songs and concepts, Mrshll writes his lyrics. Even if Mrshll is not a native Korean speaker, he understood most of his songs by listening to them many times. He learned Hangul (the Korean alphabet) when he was a trainee at SM Entertainment. Writing lyrics in the Korean language helped him better express emotions and deeper meanings in kpop marshall songs. He’s always been interested in music
He started playing cello when he was five years old, and it wasn’t long before he caught a bug for singing. He joined several acapella groups as a kid growing up in Chicago and participated in many talent shows. His high school music teacher first encouraged him to pursue a career in singing. Bang chose to go to Brown University instead of Yale like his parents wanted him to because one of his favorite teachers from high school gave him an all-expenses-paid scholarship there.
After graduating college, he started working with Korean entertainment company YG Entertainment. Trying out different instruments before finally settling on bass guitar for Brown Eyed Soul. His stage name comes from combining part of his legal name marshall bang kpop with M, short for Marshall. Many people believe that MRSHLL stands for Mr. Shine Hips Loving Life Living Legend Homicide Lieutenant Marshall Law Leonard Lance Taylor Jones Jr. Still, those aren’t real names — those are just nicknames assigned to each letter.
MRSHLL has his clothing line
Contrary to popular belief, K-pop isn’t all about dance and dress. Some groups have even begun incorporating fashion into their musical careers, and many singers often develop their clothing lines. Mrshll kpop is one of those famous singers; he has a clothing line called dasoul. It seems that clothing stores always want to sell clothes with their faces. As you can imagine, it must be hard for people not familiar with K-pop culture to find soul clothing stores. As they don’t promote or advertise their merchandise in any way outside of Korea. His favorite place to be is on stage
MRSHLL’s favorite place to be is on stage. He says that he prefers singing and making music for people more than anything else in life. His first performance was at his mother’s church when he was three years old. So it only makes sense that performing means so much to him. That said, MRSHLL has just announced that he will also be taking on a new role as a producer. He recently told fans I am currently preparing my very own solo album and. At the same time, working with other musicians who have different styles.
Keep an eye out for all of his upcoming music when asked what his biggest dreams were growing up. MRS.HLL replied that my biggest dream was always performing overseas in New York or London. He was having your name known overseas. Korea is big but not big enough. He wants everyone to hear him. His goal is to write songs for other artists
Bang says that he wants to pursue a solo career. But hopes that some of his songs will cover by other singers in the future. I’m not sure when I’ll release my first full-length album. But I want to get into writing songs for other artists, Bang told Seoulbeats. It’s something I’ve wanted to do more of lately. As far as a full-length album goes, Bang is taking it one step at a time. I don’t think it’ll be too long until we see an album from me. He added that I want to focus on releasing singles for now.

Growing up as half Korean and half African American had disadvantages. Still, I learned how to take everything people say or do and turn it into fuel towards making myself better. Bang told MTV K . It got much worse during middle school; many of my friends turned against me and made fun of how dark my skin was. It was difficult living amongst them. Every day, it seemed like another friend didn’t speak to me anymore or someone who said racist things about me right to my face.
Why do people call him MRSHLL?
It all started with a piece of K-pop trivia. In an interview, MRSHLL revealed that his friends couldn’t pronounce his name (Marcello) correctly when he was growing up. He taught them how to say it by singing I love you in Korean, MRSHLL, hence the new nickname they gave him: MRSHLL. Now you know. What made him want to pursue music as a career. At 8 years old, while attending first grade in Seoul, South Korea. MRSHLL was inspire to sing after listening to Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata. He know that music would be his life’s work from then on out. At 16 years old, he attended San Francisco State University for three semesters before dropping out and moving home. I wasn’t ready for college life, and at home, I had my parents’ support, said MARSHALL.
Is MRSHLL voice texture is unique?
MRSHLL is unique and very talented. His voice texture is so special. Also, he has a cute Korean accent when he speaks English sometimes, making him even more attractive and charming. In the K-pop industry, many idols who have voices like a girl’s are considered beautiful. But his voice is different from that kind of a boyish or high pitched voice. His tone of voice is just so manly, deep, and sexy! The first time I saw MRSHLL on Youtube singing his cover songs, he gave me goosebumps from head to toe. Also, people call him Masha or Mr. Shelly when they see pictures of him because his jawline looks very manly with sharp edges. It turns out that MRSHLL had done some R&B and rap covers before in Korea before making it big as an idol singer in South Korea.
He supports other artists through collaborations.
MRSHLL regularly supports other artists through collaborations, even if they’re not in his genre. He recently worked with top-tier K-pop stars like G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Hyuna on Bullshit, a single he released after moving to New York City. After moving back to Los Angeles, MRSHLL has continued to work with artists outside of his regular circle of friends and associates. His latest collaboration is a track on Leo’s mixtape that came out earlier in March.
The song, titled Bae, features Korean lyrics written by MRSHLL and Leo rapping over an instrumental composed by MRSHLL himself. The end goal isn’t necessarily collaborating with specific artists, Bang says. But rather to have so many talented people around me who can inspire me at any time. Through writing songs for them or simply producing their tracks.

Mrshll doesn’t hesitate to try something new despite his lack of experience. He does what he loves without compromising anything about himself.
