It is a pleasure to write about someone from a different point of view and with a very different perspective. With Jonathan Ross, I’ve done grunge and portraits several times, and I realize he goes above and beyond what is expected of him. Jonathan Ross even customized the look according to the shoot’s theme! In the beginning, Jonathan Ross will give a little background about himself, before moving on to his experience in the field and answering random questions.
Jonathan Ross (@4remjay): Hello, guys. Thanks for having me. Originally from Houston, I am an athlete, model, and social influencer. I love basketball and have an easy smile, an easy laugh, and a silly side. All things fashion and shoes are my favorites. From the age of three, I’ve been involved in sports, including basketball and dancing. Games, art, rock climbing, paddle-boarding, swimming, snowboarding, hiking, bicycling, and snow skiing are some of my favorite hobbies. Compassion, creativity, and Joy are some of my attributes.
Other than my mom, I don’t really have role models. While I admire and respect powerful leaders in the field of fashion, athletics, and dance, I aspire to be the best ME I can be. I don’t want to be distracted by striving to walk another’s journey.
My modeling career is a spin-off from my years as a competition all-star basketball. Five or six years ago my parents set up an Instagram account to share my basketball experiences with family, friends, and the competitive gaming world. I have now started my career as a clothing brand ambassador, where I purchase clothes and get a discount link, and when others buy clothes using my link I get a percentage, and then I take a picture of me in the clothing and they get posted on their page. As an ambassador, it was very rewarding for me to work with this verified Instagram clothing brand. After applying for a modeling job, I receive free clothes every month. Aside from sponsorships, I also work with Current App. Their social media platforms allow me to upload images. I consider social media to be the most important aspect of modeling.
A well-known clothing company noticed me online and decided to hire me as a brand ambassador. The response was almost immediate; within a few months, I began receiving emails and messages daily from companies seeking models, influencers, and reps for everything from clothes to makeup, bags, athletic equipment, school supplies, and more.
I can’t live without ripped jeans! I love anything that is super comfortable and slightly trendy. I love my sneakers. Denim (jeans, shorts, and skirts) and crop tops are a must in my wardrobe. And I always keep a simple little black dress handy for special occasions.
Initially I accepted a lot of offers, but eventually I learned to be more selective. My love for fashion has taken me almost exclusively into representing only clothing and shoes.
I think it is a huge honor and a big responsibility. I want to be a positive model and influencer without presenting a fake social media persona. I am a very happy person, but we all have our days. The more followers I gain, the greater the responsibility to be genuine becomes.
