The second season of Sanditon is hitting screens, and you’ll want to keep reading to find out what we know so far. If you missed the first season, don’t worry, you may recognize Tamsin Greig’s portrayal of Charlotte Heywood from Episodes and Black Mirror. The experienced actress will join Sophie Okonedo (of Doctor Who fame) as Lady Denham in Sanditon’s sophomore series. So, who stars in Sanditon season 2? Regarding new casting announcements, ITV2 has not shared any further casting information yet. Still, Sophie Okonedo is set to reprise her role as Lady Denham alongside Tamzin Greig as Charlotte Heywood. Familiar Faces in the Cast

Last seen leaving the seaside town with a broken heart, Rose Williams returns as Charlotte Heywood, while Crystal Clarke returns as Georgiana Lambe, a woman who wants nothing more than to make her way in the world. Sanditon season 2 Plot
Charlotte Heywood (Rose Williams) returns to a picturesque coastal resort as the drama follows her on her journey to become an independent woman. Charlotte’s journey is one thread in an intricate tapestry of intrigue, excitement, and romance. In the backdrop of beautiful vistas, familiar faces return to the town, and new faces are introduced – all of whom will encounter an adventure as fun and memorable as the seaside community. If Sidney Parker does not return, the producers promise an overwhelming abundance of excitement.

What happens in first episode of Sanditon season 2?
The series opens in the Caribbean, where we quickly discover that Sidney Parker has died! Charlotte was in love with Sidney, who married another woman to clear his brother’s debts. Sidney’s death leaves a shadow over Sanditon. Meanwhile, the army has come to town, and among them is dashing Colonel Francis Lennox. Charlotte takes a governess position with Alexander Colbourne’s household. In short, without Sidney, things are not going well for anyone in sanditon no more. But everything changes when Charlotte goes to London on business for Mr. Martin (the owner of some of the properties she has been looking after). There she meets handsome Thomas Loveday and realizes that her future may not be as gloomy as she thought it would be. And then there’s Diana Parker.
What happens in episode two?
Charlotte starts her job as a governess, but what can she make of her charges? Charlotte finds she has her work cut out! Meanwhile, Charlotte’s sister, Alison, rapidly falls in love with a young army captain, William. Esther continues to be distressed as she cannot have a child. Georgina finds herself infuriated by artist Charles Lockhart. Colbourne loses his bet that Charlotte won’t last a week. There’s a surprise for Esther and Lady Denham as Clara returns and reveals she’s pregnant with Edward’s child! Diana Parker guest stars as Diana Parker on Season 2 of Sanditon.
What happens in episode three?
Colonel Lennox and Charlotte get a little closer. Georgina scolds Lockhart for his sketch. But is there a connection between the pair? Charlotte impresses Colbourne when she calms his horse. Alison falls further in love with her captain. Meanwhile, the shopkeepers are unhappy about all the army’s unpaid bills. Edward tries to convince Esther and Lady Denham he’s a changed man. Esther is the only one on hand when Clara gives birth. Colonel Lennox warns Charlotte about Colbourne. He claims Colbourne stole his true love from him and then destroyed her. But is he telling the truth?
What happens in episode four?
It’s Episode 4, and Charlotte worries that her sister has fallen in love too quickly. She tries to warn her that she’s rushing into things, but Alison won’t listen. Georgina and Lockhart continue their love/hate relationship. Enemies Esther and Clara surprisingly start to bond over the baby. After a decade, Colborne finally attends a society event. William rows Alison out in a boat to propose, but she falls in, and he fails to rescue her! Luckily, Captain Declan manages to save her! Alison releases William isn’t the man she thought he was. Meanwhile, things turn very Bridget Jones when Colbourne and Lennox clash at Lady Denham’s event.
Will there be a Sanditon season 3?
Since ITV decided to cancel Sanditon before even airing it, we’re unlikely ever to see the third season. In an interview with Digital Spy, Annabel revealed: I don’t think so. We’re disappointed that they didn’t show it on PBS. It would have been nice to see it out there, but these things happen. It just didn’t get a chance – but we were lucky enough to do something else after that, which was nice. So when is Sanditon season 3 on PBS?
The series has not yet aired in the U.S. Hopefully. The BBC will release it soon. However, fans are still waiting for news about when the third season of Sanditon will come to fruition. In the meantime, fans can go back and watch the first two seasons of Downton Abbey again or binge-watch Downton Abbey from start to finish in anticipation of Downton Abbey’s final season premiering later this year.
