When it comes to casino gaming, there are two games that always come to mind —games which have stood the test of time to become casino icons in their own right.
We are of course talking about Roulette and Blackjack. But with both casino games in high demand, which is best?
Follow us as we try to decide whether cards trump the wheel, or the wheel spins cards out of contention for the top spot.
Blackjack
Evolving over the years, you can now enjoy a game of Blackjack from the comfort of your own home via online Blackjack games, or in-person at your favourite land-based casino establishment.
Blackjack is a game consisting of one or more decks of 52 cards, where the aim of the game is to hold a hand worth 21 or as close to 21 as possible, without exceeding 21, whilst also trying to beat the dealer.
To begin a game, the dealer will deal two cards to you, and two for themselves. Once dealt, you can turn over your cards to reveal your hand value. The dealer, on the other hand, will only turn over one of their cards, revealing the second card after you’ve decided to stick with the hand you have. If the two cards total is much less than 21, you can ask to be dealt another card, with the hope it will advance you closer to 21.
You can beat the dealer by holding a hand of a higher value than theirs, by the dealer’s hand value exceeding 21, or by revealing that your first two cards value 21 exactly and the dealer’s hand doesn’t. There’s always a chance the dealer can beat you, which can be achieved if your hand exceeds a total of 21 or the dealer’s hand is of greater value than yours, without going over 21.
Roulette
A game of chance, Roulette has also evolved to become available for players who seek to spin the wheel both in-person and online on casino sites, to see whether they can correctly predict the outcome of the game.
A game comprised of a wheel, a corresponding table and a small ball, Roulette has gripped the attention of players for centuries, offering payouts if they could correctly predict where the ball would land once the wheel stopped spinning.
With many variations played around the world, the rules of the Roulette are the same with each variant and the popularity of the game has only grown with time, advancing it to icon status within the casino world.
To play, you must place your bets within the Roulette table layout. After a certain amount of time has passed, Once the dealer has closed the betting window, no more bets can be placed, and they will spin the wheel, entering the ball into play.
Once the ball has come to a complete stop, will the winning pocket be announced. Those who predicted the outcome correctly will be awarded their prizes and dead bets will be collected by the dealer.

Ultimately, it’s down to you to decide which game is best for you and your desired gameplay. Of course, we cannot decide which classic is best, as they’ve both stood the test of time, and are sure to live long into the future.
