A Great Offer Came My Way!
Last year, I received an incredible offer in the mail that would allow me to go on a cruise of my choice. Even better, it came with a major discount: 2 additional tickets at a reduced price. I told my best friend, Lisa, about it, and she begged to come along. With one ticket remaining, it was up to either my husband or hers to come along, but it felt unfair to choose between them, so we decided that it would be just the two of us.
When we met up, we were so ecstatic—we couldn’t wait to be on the open water! We got to the port a few hours early and passed the time at a nearby café, where we ate a delicious lunch. I had a BLT sandwich, and Lisa had a loaded Caesar salad. Finally, it was time to board. We knew that we were going to have an incredible time together!
Sunbathing by the Pool
Every day, we lounged by one of the on-deck swimming pools. It was perfect for soaking up some much-needed sun. By the time the cruise was done, I was bronzer than the Statue of Liberty! It was also a great time to drink mojitos and margaritas. To be truthful, we drank way more than we should have, but there’s no point in complaining. It was so worth it!
Sometimes, Lisa and I would dip our toes in the water and wade into the pool. There was also an enormous waterslide that went off the ship, which was a bit scary. We lazed around the pool for a while, but one day, we worked up enough courage to actually go down the slide. After just a single go, I was a bit dizzy, but realized how much fun it was, and decided to go again. Lisa wasn’t having any of it, though, and decided to sit back and watch from the sunbathing chairs Mediterranean cruise.
I guess that thrills aren’t always for everyone!
More Food than I Could Imagine
The food on the cruise was absolutely to die for. They had just about everything you could possibly imagine steaks, burgers, sandwiches, all types of salads, and a huge amount of seafood. There was even a super expensive lobster platter. Talk about Heaven on Earth!
We were constantly eating impressive dishes, and by the end of the trip, I could barely squeeze myself into the pair of jeans I wore on the first day. Even so, I couldn’t be happier!
Making a Friend and Planning Our Next Adventure
On one of our first days, Lisa and I were going to our usual chairs by the pool to sunbathe, but a lady was sitting in one of them, so we took the two seats next to it. We decided to strike up a conversation with her, as she seemed nice enough. It turned out that she was a retiree from the Midwest who was taking a cruise for some alone time. We were surprised that she was retired, because she looked young and refreshed. She couldn’t have been older than 40!
We asked her how she looked so good. To our surprise, she told us that she’d had a deep plane facelift, which took off 10 whole years from her face and neck. Right then and there, Lisa and I decided that that would be our next adventure: dual facelifts!
Finding Souvenirs and Restaurants at Every Port
Of course, we didn’t spend the entire cruise on the ocean. Whenever we stopped at ports, we were quick to get off the ship and tour the area. We both made sure to buy at least one souvenir at every shop we visited!
We also made sure to visit at least one restaurant, too, so that we could taste traditional island dishes. Everything was absolutely fantastic—there were so many favorites.
The trip was absolutely worth it, and I’ll remember it for years to come. It simply couldn’t have been better!
