The Ideal Temperature
It’s hard to deny that, when fall waltzes in, you can expect some of the most pleasurable outdoor conditions. As soon as the first leaves begin to fall, I try to get outside to jog, birdwatch, and revel in the mild breeze.
As with most people, the bitter cold and blistering heat aren’t my cups of tea. That’s why fall is perfect; it is balanced between the poles, which is becoming increasingly important. This year, in fact, July was the hottest month on the planet in 142 years—in Death Valley, California, temperatures reached a record-breaking 130 degrees!
With the gentle fall weather, I can stay outside for hours, taking in all of the fresh air and painting some beautiful scenes. There are so many wonderful sights to put on canvas around September, and I enjoy them so much more when the temperature isn’t remotely an issue!
I Love the Fashion
When fall begins, out come the gloves, scarves, and jackets!
Every year, I shuffle through my wardrobe for the prettiest color combinations, and it’s such a pleasure to go thrifting for vintage fall accessories. My local Goodwill has some amazing hidden gems (you wouldn’t believe it, but I once found a pair of vintage Gucci heels!)
I’ve been planning for a while, too, to get a neck lift, and I think this season will be the right time to get it. The scarves and turtlenecks will hide it excellently, so no one will know that I underwent surgery, and I’ll still look fashionable!
The Colors Are Dazzling
One of my favorite things about fall is the breadth of color! It’s a marvelous time to flaunt warm hues like reds, oranges, and yellows. You can even get away with sporting some deeper purples and feistier blues!
What’s more, the world around us is also full of exquisite color! It’s enchanting to stand beneath a thicket of trees as they shed, and I’ve always adored picking up leaves from different areas to laminate and save in my scrapbooks. They make for excellent decorations!
Fall is an Inspiring Season
If you’re an artist like I am, then you know how inspiring this season can be.
Fall’s atmosphere, colors, and smells make for a transcendent sensory experience, and there are so many opportunities to begin new projects that will compliment your living space and keep you engaged with fun, exciting activities.
So, take your canvas to the park and replicate the scene with some oil or acrylic. Take the opportunity to go wild and create true magic. Fall and winter paintings tend to sell very well, too, and now might be the time to smart a little side hustle on Etsy!
Fall’s possibilities are endless, and if you want, you can bring elements from the outdoors to life. Once, I used a fallen leaf as a paintbrush, which turned out better than expected, and there’s always the joy of carving pumpkins!
With mother nature’s bountiful inspiration, why not tap into your creative side?
Beautiful Decorations
Fall décor can bring any environment to life.
Some of the most common decorations I’ve heard of include real and fake leaves, which can make your home look and feel more playful. There is also an immense number of crafts to buy, which can bring seasonal flair to your home as you prepare for the Thanksgiving holiday. I recommend decorating the fireplace, hanging wreaths over the pit and relaxing by some hot, crackling logs after a long day outside.
Another neat thing I enjoy is setting up haystacks and pumpkins in the front and backyards. They’re perfect for photographs that I can later add to my scrapbooks.
There’s simply no way to go wrong with so much joy and seasonal festivity!
