Following five years of investment into research and development of zero carbon footprint initiatives, USPA Nationwide Security has achieved platinum level certification by the Green Business Bureau.
As part of its five-year journey to achieve zero carbon emissions, USPA Nationwide Security has today announced its highest level to date. This week, an international security conglomerate attained the platinum level, an achievement that required considerable time, energy, and resources on the part of the firm’s top management.
“USPA’s goal of net zero is an important milestone because it’s the best way we can contribute to reducing climate change,” said Danial Manning, CEO. The company purchased electric vehicles to replace the fleet of patrol vehicles used for security guard services and fire watch across the U.S. “As part of our new autonomous (drone) technology division, which will launch next week, we have also invested in research and development to offset the need for patrol vehicles. Former CEO Michael Evans has been retained by the firm to operate Michael Evans Consulting, a firm that specializes in research, development, and streamlining of security and private military companies.
Brian Fitzgibbons, USPA’s Vice President, stated that limiting emissions in the coming years will be crucial for our children’s futures. Using green energy consultants and partnering with the Green Business Bureau as a third-party measurement of the firm’s progress, the firm has sought the help of green energy consultants. In addition to being a paperless company, USPA Nationwide Security’s parent company, USPA International, is nearly paperless, still using timesheets in some locations, but will eliminate them by the end of this year.
Michael Evans, who provides research and development services for USPA, has helped develop an autonomous drone technology that operates without human intervention. As part of their responsibility for protecting large areas, the USPA uses AI drones to patrol, record, and report back to their operations center in order to provide the greatest amount of coverage, with a minimum carbon footprint. They have developed a superyacht protective division in the Bahamas that utilizes drones to provide aerial surveillance for miles in the ocean to assist in the protection of the vessel. Traditionally, this was accomplished by utilizing auxiliary patrol vessels.”
Research and development expenditures aligned with the Paris Agreement on Climate Change also support USPA’s green activities, in pursuit of its zero emissions ambition.
