The essential item in the first season was defining who Peacemaker was and figuring out where he was going in his journey. Butterflies and their evolution and some twists to the storyline are all secondary to who he was as a character and how he changes and changes the others because he has a significant impact on them. That’s true for the Vigilante character too. I know where Peacemaker starts and where he will end up, but I’m not telling, and I’m playing with some ideas and ways that could work out.

There is the beginning of a friendship between him and Amelia Harcourt. And we see his relationship with some of the other characters. Whether or not his father was alive, or whether or not it is still infectious, we see it as a part of who he is. Gunn knows Vigilante’s popularity, but don’t expect Adrian Chase to remain the same in season two to satisfy fans.
It would make sense that he had a straight-line arc in season one, but we expect it to be more complicated in season two. Gunn loves to go deeper on characters that he thinks are too one-dimensional. In addition to the Justice League cameo, we expect at least one cameo from The Suicide Squad movie. Yesterday we saw the Justice League. It’s time for the peacemaker season 2 to reunite with some of his Task Force X pals.

And with two seasons down and two more on their way (hopefully), how could we be happy if Peacemaker were to end now? That doesn’t seem right.
