The Sharingan is a powerful bloodline that mainly belongs to the Uchiha clan. It manifests itself in two different sharingans, with one being an evolved version of the other, called Kakashi Mangekyou Sharingan. The Sharingan is a powerful and coveted bloodline ability within the Naruto universe. It even said that if two sharingans clash. It will create an explosion like none other!
During their battle, Kakashi has one Sharingan eye in his left eye socket, which he got from Obito Uchiha. He had to sacrifice his eye to save Obito’s life with Kamui when they were children.
Sharingan Mangekyou Kakashi: How Did Kakashi Get Them? All of these questions address by Kishimoto sensei in the narrative! But, for those who aren’t aware, let’s get started!
What is the Sharingan, and how was it formed?
The Sharingan is a strong bloodline linked to the Uchiha family. It takes the form of two distinct sharingans, one of which evolves into Mangekyou Sharingan, dubbed the “evolved” version. The Sharingan is a highly sought-after bloodline ability in Naruto’s world. Kakashi has a Sharingan eye in his left eye socket, which he received from Obito during their fight. When they were children, he had to give up his eyesight to preserve Obito’s life using the Kamui technique.
How did Kakashi acquire the Mangekyou Sharingan?
During his early days as a shinobi, Kakashi was part of Team Minato, with its’ leader being the man who would later become known as “Utena-san”.
Although Obito was weaker than Kakashi in every aspect, he had always felt superior. He bragged about his lineage and faithfulness to the Uchiha before any battle or mission began, which led him into many fights because of how sloppy they were fought out by nature for someone with such high aspirations as Hokage one. Day! Alongside that dream, at some point after awakening from Rinnegan but still becoming “Madara” alive-Obito strived towards godhood through gaining power over others (and even himself), believing only then could rule supreme as all other legendary shinobi did throughout history.
Kakashi promotes Jounin during the war. He and his team carry out missions across various fronts. Including one where they destroy Kannabi Bridge in Kusagakure – destroying supplies for enemy troops would be their priority!
The team enters Kusagakure, and an Iwagakure shinobi promptly surround them. Kakashi tries to kill him with his newly developed Chidori. However, due to its tunnelling effect. He leaves himself open for a counter-attack which Minato has no choice but finishes off this enemy before sending another messenger back home to keep up appearances. So that nothing is wrong at their end. While also receiving orders from Tsunade about facing people at another front over there leaving Kakashi temporarily alone taking care of their needs. The scene where Minato kills 1000 shinobi alone is iconic for its impact. The team receives an attack from Iwa’s partners, who end up kidnapping Rin in the process, making Obito offer to go after her. At the same time, Kakashi prioritizes mission over friendship and wants his teammate back alive!
In conclusion
During the mission, Kakashi saves Rin from dying. When Obito decides to give his Sharingan kakashi eye out of self-sacrifice. This explains why Kakashi has an Obito Sharingan (and not rin’s). He does so by using Kamui with it on Kakashi’s body for him to save her. This act breaks their team up as they face separate paths that they cannot follow together! But, unfortunately, that was until years later where they all met again under very dire circumstances. Kakashi became known as the Sharingan Kakashi after Sasuke Uchiha gifted him with his copy of this eye. His proficiency in using it was such that even Itachi – another genius Uchihas praise for it!
What’s the history of obtaining the Sharingan in both eyes?
In chapter 688 of the manga, Kakashi obtained a pair of Sharingan after Obito’s death. As Kaguya attacked Naruto and Sasuke, Obito used his Kamui to protect Kakashi. Obito died when Kaguya attacked him and sent his soul to the afterlife. Rin met Obito over there, and he promised to save Kakashi for the last time. Because of this, Obito is unable to rest and prepare for the future. Because Sasuke felt compelled to seek revenge on his brother, he’s been away from Konoha since then. And that was how Obito died — by transferring his dying breath into Kakashi, who was able to manifest a perfect Susanoo after doing so.
But how did Kakashi acquire Sharingan in both eyes? How was it that sharingan mangekyou Kakashi obtained Sharingan in both eyes? I’ll go through it. But first, remember Obito’s promise. In the past, Obito stated that his Sharingan would only work for a short period. When Obito’s chakra vanished from the human world, so did his spirit with his Sharingan. Wait some more! Is it true that the Sharingan may operate even if the original user is dead? Danzo, Shisui, and Itachi are examples of this.
Kakashi obtaining the Sharingan in both eyes is due to his chakra theory. We all know that every aspect of shinobi world link by chakra; even souls comprise of chakra! For example, Minato’s soul was trapped within the belly of a Shinigami. This is due to sealing jutsu he utilizes. But there’s still a trace of him in Naruto’s seal. This is due to the soul’s nature in the Naruto world. Since chakra can be shared and split, and souls are made up of chakra. It may exist in numerous locations because a form of chakra principle of Ninshu comes into play here.

In conclusion
The Ninshu tradition traces its origins to The One For All and All For One. All people are one. It’s well-known that Naruto incorporates numerous Hinduism and Buddhism ideas. The chakra is also binding energy in the Naruto-universe. This implies that everything has chakra and links by it, including every event. And in Naruto mythology, you may share chakra with others. As a result, we observe part of Minato’s soul in Naruto’s seal, as well as Kushina’s. Furthermore, due to him having the eyes themselves that contained Sharingan, Danzo could utilize the Sharingan from dead Uchihas! And if he doesn’t have Sharingan-related chakra on hand, then there’s nothing stopping him from creating his own. If this weren’t the case, Kakashi wouldn’t have been able to utilize Obito’s Sharingan at all.
Why Is It That Kakashi’s Sharingan Can’t Turn Off?
So, why is it that Kakashi’s Sharingan can’t turn off? After all, he did get the Sharingan from Obito. Furthermore, as said earlier, Minato still has a faint trace of his soul in Naruto’s seal; this also applies to Madara Uchiha and Sasuke when they manifest Susanoo! So if you don’t have Sharingan-related chakra on hand or your original Sharingan user isn’t around (inanimate object), then there’s nothing stopping you from creating your sharingans by using shadow clones!
When Kakashi received Obito’s eye transplant in chapter 698 of the manga, we see him awaken with red sharingan eyes Kakashi for an instant before turning into sharingans like what happened when Itachi implanted Sharingan in Sasuke. This is also mention when Kakashi says that he doesn’t have complete control of sharingans, and we can see this even more with his fight against Obito during chapter 700. This shows that at most, they share chakra, and it may not be enough for him to use Sharingan if there isn’t a close relation between them (Sharingan user).
While receiving one Sharingan eye transplant from Obito. What happened was surprisingly different than what would typically occur when someone received an eye transplant! Usually, such transplants occurred through taking over dead bodies’ organs or moving the Sharingan from the dead body to a living person’s eye. However, in Kakashi’s case, since he didn’t have Sharingan-related chakra on hand and Obito wasn’t around. When his sharingans were taken out of him during chapter 698. It is safe to say that instead of taking over another Sharingan user or using a dead Sharingan user’s eyes for transplanting purposes. And what happened was more like an infusion!
In other words
Kakashi just received some of Obito’s chakra into his system, where they combined with all the cells within his body, including blood cells. This created new sharingans through utilizing Kakashi’s already existing Sharingan Cells which mutated due to connecting them with the chakra of an already Sharingan user! And Kakashi just gained some control over them.
Did Kakashi Become An Uchiha?
As for why did Sharingan suddenly develop in Kakashi, the only logical explanation is that he has some mixed blood of an Uchiha. Remember when Minato sealed half his soul within naruto (chapter 16) and transferred Kushina’s chakra chains to naruto. Also, if you recall correctly, people like sai said that Naruto had red hair similar to Sasuke at one time or another. This means Sharingan could still be present on their mother’s side since we don’t know what happened with Kushina during her childbirth process after she died. There may not have been enough Sharingan cells remaining! So, Sharingan Mangekyou Kakashi did have its own Sharingan.
