Love fashion? Then you’ve probably kept an eye on the pulse of this industry and know about a European brand called Bershka. You might even have some Bershka clothing in your closet!
But beyond that, how much do you really know about this brand? Do you want to learn more about it?
If so, then you’re in the right place! Read on for the inside scoop.
The Beginnings
In April 1998, Bershka was established in Spain by the Inditex Group corporation. This is a huge group, as they also own other big names in the fashion industry, such as Massimo Dutti, Stradivarius, Pull&Bear, and Zara.
This fashion brand aimed to attract the younger crowd (ages 14-25) and judging by its success, it’s done a good job of providing clothes and other fashion accessories that are hot and hip to their target audience. In fact, Bershka renews its collection of over 4,000 items every year to ensure they stay on-trend.
Bershka Stores
The Bershka clothing company quickly became in demand. The brand expanded beyond just Spain; in 2 years, Bershka’s brand image was present in 100 shops! Soon after, it had a global reach.
Today, there are over 1,000 Bershka stores located across 71 countries around the world. This clothing store is so popular that their sales make up almost 10% of the Inditex Group!
Going Online
Brick and mortar shops have always had to compete with online sales, so if you can’t beat them, join them. In September 2011, Bershka launched online shopping in countries such as the Netherlands, the UK, Ireland, Italy, Germany, France, China, and Latvia. And it wasn’t just Bershka that did this either; its sister companies also went digital.
Today, you can browse and purchase Bershka clothes online, from the comfort of your own home. It’s not the same experience as shopping in person, but rest easy knowing that Bershka returns have a great grace period of 30 days, so you’ll have plenty of time to return anything you don’t like.
Bershka Logo
The logo is very simple; “Bershka” is written in black Trade Gothic Regular font on a white background. When the background is colored, then the letters are switched to white.
In Asia, you might see an alternative logo. In these countries, they often use just “Bsk” in bold orange lettering, which then has a white background and a thin orange outline around the letters. It’s believed that the color orange was chosen since it can evoke happiness.
