Season six of The Magicians, popular take on Grossman’s novels, will have new episodes that air Thursdays at 9/8c. In January 2022, we learn from showrunner Sera Gamble that there are 15 more hours in store for Quentin and his friends. That is, assuming fans embrace them. We only get to make more if people watch, Gamble tweeted. Please watch. To help viewers prepare for their return trip through Brake bills University and below. Read up on what happened in season five (hint: not much) and get caught up on where things stand with Quentin and co. Now. This fall, Margo Martindale joined The Magicians cast as Professor Sunderland—and granted us a look at what she was like before losing her memory.
In addition to returning guest stars like Jade Tailor as Poppy and Rick Worthy as Elliot. Gamble promised big things from newcomer Sarah Jaffe (You), who plays Gillian Eliot. It looks like The Magicians will cover important. Timely issues going into its sixth year. Including immigration—with an episode inspired by Ngozi Adichie’s We Should All Be Feminists. How did Eliot become such a feminist badass? Her origin story might surprise you! A Gilmore Girls alum has also come aboard The Magicians season 6 roster: Sean Gun. Does he want to be part of Fillory? You can catch up on all previous seasons on Hulu right now.
Who is in it?
A ton of familiar faces will be back in season six. Including Jason Ralph (Quentin Coldwater), Stella Maeve (Julia Wicker), Olivia Taylor Dudley (Alice Quinn), Arjun Gupta (Nicky Scratch), Summer Bishil (Margo Hanson), and Jade Tailor (Penny Adiyodi). But a few characters will make an exit: Marina Squerciati, who plays Kady Orloff-Diaz, already left at midseason. Former regular John McNamara announced he’s exiting after only appearing in two episodes; his character Martin Chatwin kill off earlier in Season 5. And do not expect to see Poppy Montgomery ever again on The Magicians. Despite her stellar guest appearance last year as Julia’s deadbeat mother.
She told Entertainment Weekly she was not invited back for season 6 the magicians — even though she want it. So that means no more Bad Penny. Instead, we may get some glimpses into how Quentin met Marina when they lived in Brooklyn — or maybe just flashbacks. We’ll also see Eliot reconnect with his sister Margo the magicians season 6. This is sure to be super-awkward since she murders him during their quest to save magic from being destroy by The Beast at the end of Season 5. And don’t forget Quentin’s alternate universe counterpart Liam still exists out there somewhere. just waiting for Jane Chatwin (transported via Fillory) to try and find him.
Plot information about season 6:
It’s officially confirmed what we’ve known for a while now: The magical world will there be a season 6 of the magicians. Now that the cat is out of the bag. We thought it was high time to take stock of everything reveal so far. Expect significant spoilers from here on out! We can’t reveal much about what happened during filming beyond vague teases from cast members. But after taking all into account, we have some ideas of where things are going when The Magicians returns.
Here’s what Syfy has announced: Season 5 left us with our heroes scattered. Julia and Quentin (Jason Ralph) live happily together, but Penny (Arjun Gupta) is stuck without magic or his friends back home. And his depression has reached an all-time low. Meanwhile, Alice (Olivia Taylor Dudley) and Eliot (Hale Appleman) are working for Tyack at Brake bills South. And Margo ends up making a deal with Reynard to bring Penny back. Where do things pick up?
An interview with showrunners Sera Gamble and John McNamara gave us insight. As they tease new characters, new monsters, new worlds. Not too many specifics there. Though – while Hale Appleman later told TV Guide he was confident Eliot would be getting a girlfriend. That doesn’t narrow down exactly how their storylines will play out but suggests one thing. Don’t expect anyone sitting around doing nothing throughout 13 episodes just because it’s two years since season five aired.
Will, there be a new cast member?
Yes, a new character name Julia will be joining Quentin and his friends at Brake bills University. Lev Grossman created Julia for his book series, but she will make her television debut in season 5. In advance of her arrival on TV, look for Julia’s story in a novella title The Magician King: The Gift published in an anthology called Czar City. It will be released on July 17, 2018, and is already available for pre-order. This anthology also includes Grossman’s stories Good Boy and Radiant Doors. It’s worth noting that while Julia wrote with Serafina Shaw in mind, she could potentially still recast as production progresses. Fans may not have noticed yet (because it includes in the description).
Still, another cast member has announce Alice Quinn. Who describes as a combination of characters from Alice Stillwell and Alice Quinn from Grossman’s novels. No casting news has been announce yet; speculation suggests producers might want someone more well-known than either Olivia Taylor Dudley or Jade Tailor. Potential candidates include Emma Watson or Blake Lively for Alice Stillwell; Eliza Taylor or Isabelle Cornish for Alice Quinn; Sophie Lowe or Juno Temple for Melanie Gold; Jessica Brown Findlay or Anna Sophia Robb for Janet Rosen; Amber Tamblyn or Rachael Taylor for Mrs. Bass.
How will it end?
Based on Lev Grossman’s best-selling novels, The Magicians could come with two possible endings. In both cases, fans are sure to find out what happens in Fillory and if Quentin Coldwater gets together with Alice. But even more importantly. they will discover if Julia successfully becomes a god and what happens when Brakebills graduates its latest class. However, no matter how good or bad it is for these characters, one thing that’s unlikely to change during the magicians season 6 netflix is that Syfy viewers will enjoy watching them every week. Even though there have been some changes behind-the-scenes. Including adding showrunners John McNamara and Sera Gamble and new co-showrunner Chris Fisher, writers have said the magicians season 6 won’t be much different from previous seasons. It means viewers can expect more magic than ever, as well as plenty of drama surrounding Quentin and his friends.
There’s only so much information available for now about The Magicians’ upcoming episodes. But here are some details that share Anthony Rapp (as Dean Fogg) has left. Still, other cast members (e.g., Arjun Gupta) might return. A similar situation occurred after Season 3 when Summer Bishil (Alice Quinn) left; she later returned, and her character had an important role in last year’s finale. In an interview with TVLine, Jason Ralph, who plays Quentin, talks about how he thinks some storylines ended last season and some began. According to him, the season 6 magicians might answer why certain things happened at the end of last year.
