Take a look at what’s in store for New World’s latest update
New World is a fantasy MMORPG game that takes players on a journey through the world of Aeternum. The game features an open world for players to explore, and an interesting weapon and skill system where players can freely customize their character to match their play style. There are a lot of things to do in Aeternum, especially with New World coins!
MMORPG games like New World often release updates to keep their player base loyal to the game. These updates often come with balance changes to ensure that nothing in the game is too strong or weak. These updates sometimes introduce new content for players to enjoy.
Update 1.5.5 Game Changes
Much like other MMORPG games, New World has a PvP system where players can test their skills against each other. The PvP Arena is a feature in New World that allows players to engage in combat with another player. As a token for participating in the PvP Arena, players are rewarded XP and Azoth Salt and New World coins.
Azoth salt is one of the currencies used in the world of Aeternum. They can be used to purchase rewards that are unlocked by reaching certain PvP experience levels. Consistently grinding the PvP Arena is a good way to get resources and progress further in the game.
In New World, PvP combat is available to players once they choose their faction. From there, they can access different kinds of PvP modes, with some modes unlocked at higher levels. The most accessible mode is the PvP Arenas.
The PvP Arenas involve two teams composed of three players going face-to-face against each other. The teams will fight each other in a best-of-five series. The area for the Arenas is an open area with two pillars that players can use as cover. Each round lasts two minutes and if the battle lasts longer, flames will engulf the arena, forcing players towards the arena’s center. The first team to win three rounds wins. Players are then rewarded based on the number of rounds they won. During the matches, players cannot swap out abilities except in between rounds.
In New World’s 1.5.5 update, the developers are looking to push players to participate in the PvP Arenas more by increasing the rewards and introducing a new resource that can only be obtained in the PvP Arenas.
More XP and Azoth Salt
The 1.5.5 update increased the XP and Azoth Salt rewards given to players depending how many rounds their team won. Here are the exact values for the rewards
- 0 win: increased rewards to 350 XP, 75 Azoth Salt from 250 XP with no Azoth Salt
- 1 win: increased rewards to 600 XP, 150 Azoth Salt from 350 XP
- 2 wins: increased rewards to 750 XP, 350 Azoth Salt from 500 XP
- 3 wins: 1000 XP, 500 Azoth Salt
The PvP Arenas is a recent addition to New World, with it being released last May 2022. The developers are still looking to adjust the PvP Arenas to make it a more worthwhile experience. Based on the latest update, players can still earn XP and Azoth Salt even if they are unable to win any round, which means that simply participating will still have its benefits.
Garnet Gypsum
New World’s 1.5.5 update also introduced a new type of Gypsum that is exclusively obtained from the PvP Arenas – the Garnet Gypsum.
In New World, Gypsums are used to craft Gypsum Orbs which can then be crafted to Gypsum Casts from a Gypsum Kiln. Each type of gear has its own type of Gypsum Cast. Whenever players use a Gypsum Cast, their expertise will increase for the gear that is specific to the type of Gypsum Cast they used. Gypsum Casts will also grant players a gear that is specific to the Gypsum Cast type. Expertise is what determines the highest level of gear you can get from drops. It is also a value that determines the effectiveness of players’ gear.
The Garnet Gypsum available in the PvP Arenas are limited; each player can only earn up to two Garnet Gypsums per day. The Garnet Gypsum has a specific drop rate depending on how much rounds players have won, much like the XP and Azoth Salt rewards in the PvP Arenas. Here are the drop rates for Garnet Gypsums.
- 0 win: 1 Garnet with 50% chance of dropping
- 1 win: 1 Garnet with 50% chance of dropping
- 2 wins: 1 Garnet with 50% chance of dropping
- 3 wins: 1 Garnet with 100% chance of dropping
By participating in the PvP Arenas, players have a chance to get a Garnet Gypsum even if they fail to win a single round. Of course the winners will get to take the spoils with the 100% drop chance.
With this update, the developers are encouraging New World account owners to try out PvP with its increased rewards. Come test your skins in Aeternum’s PvP Arenas for a chance to get Garnet Gypsums and Azoth Salt!
