Now that they have completed the first season of our favorite anime series, Horimiya, it’s time to ask the question on everyone’s mind. Will there be a horimiya season 2? The short answer to this question is no, not at least any time soon. However, there are plenty of reasons to be still excited about our favorite couple and what happens next in their lives as they move on to grad school and beyond.
About Horimiya
Horimiya is a slice of life manga written and illustrated by Hero (Kazuya Kudo), responsible for The World God Only Knows and Qwaser of Stigmata. The series initially began as a webcomic before eventually getting serialized in Weekly Shounen Jump, published between 2012 and 2016. Viz Media is currently publishing it digitally in English. Though there have been no official announcements regarding a print release or translation from Viz.
An anime adaptation of Horimiya was produced by Silver Link, who made Kokoro Connect and WATAMOTE and premiered on July 1st, 2015. No news has emerged about whether or not an additional horimiya season 2 will broadcast, but with such a positive response from fans and critics alike – we’re optimistic that it will.
There isn’t any official word yet, but we know that sequel might arrive in the year 2022. So stay tuned for updates! How to Watch Horimiya: Horimiya episodes can be streamed legally on Crunchyroll. The streaming service offers new episodes every Friday at 11:00 p.m. EST so you can watch it right after it finishes airing in Japan.
Horimiya season 1:
Horimiya season 1 was about Yuki and a girl named Miyako. The two fell in love in high school but broke up on graduation day due to their parents not approving of their relationship. However, after seven years apart, Yuki has returned and started to live as a housekeeper for Miyako’s family. He now goes by his real name, Kyoutarou Yukimura, instead of using his childhood nickname Horimiya. The manga follows Miyako adjusting to having him around again while balancing her ongoing friendships with other girls from school.
As they get ready to start new lives, they begin thinking back on what first brought them together. But can their youthful romance survive maturity and distance? Will there be a horimiya anime release date? Let’s find out! Or if we don’t have another anime, let’s wait for an anime! But we will also cover where you are. You can watch horimiya if you haven’t already seen it! So now that we got all that done.
Horimiya Season 2 Release date:
There’s no official news about horimiya anime season 2 release date yet. But creator Tachibana Mei is reportedly working on new Horimiya stories. If you’re unfamiliar with Horimiya, it’s about high school lovebirds who happen to be anime and manga characters (Horikita Maki plays Maki-chan, a blond tomboy; Morikawa Toshiyuki plays Toshiki, her shy otaku boyfriend). In case you were wondering if there was any way that relationship could last into college, think again.
The season ends with their graduation and a happy ending that leaves no loose ends in need of tying up. So how does one fill a story without an ongoing conflict? Well, plenty of great manga do. But for now, we can only speculate whether or not there will be another season based on what we know about creator Tachibana Mei’s plans for the series. I will work hard to draw even more pictures. I am also thinking of ways to enjoy Horimiya as much as possible! And then, horimiya season 2.
Tachibana Mei (Source) It sounds like she doesn’t have any concrete plans at present; she’s not ready to say yes or no regarding the possibility of a second season. What she did say suggests that fans should expect more Horimiya releases regardless of how long it takes. She has both volumes scheduled for release through 2018 and describes herself as having two assistants helping her with drawing, coloring, and lettering. So yeah, plenty happening down at Tachibana land.
Is This Anime Worth Watching?
This series has a simple enough premise but can be extremely entertaining if you enjoy its slow-burn approach to romance. It also does well to incorporate a healthy dose of humor. With that said, it may not be right for everyone due to some pacing issues and a questionable final season. Production Team
In preparation for what is to come in Horimiya’s future, it is announced that Yoshitaka Koyama will replace director, Masahiko Ohta. The changes taking place behind the scenes seem to suggest that there might be a horimiya season 2, which could prove thrilling for fans of Horimiya. However, at least right now, news has not been released stating whether or not anything of that sort will happen.

Characters Bios
Yukiya Yuki Hori: The main character. He finds himself falling in love with Miyamura but can’t reveal his feelings to her. In season two of anime, he’s studying for his entrance exams with help from Miyamura. Tachibana Chika: Another one of Yuki’s classmates and best friends. In season two of anime, she helps study for school entrance exams and Yuki and other friends like Miyamura.
Natsuki Enomoto: She is an underclassman that has a crush on Yuki. In horimiya season 2 of anime, she tries to do anything to win him over by using a disguise that fails miserably. Kurumi Ebisuzawa: She is an underclassman who works at a bread shop part-time. Unlike most girls in school who have crushes on Yuki.
She falls in love with Hori due to their similar personalities/appearance (they are both seen as boring by others). In horimiya season 2 of anime, they begin dating after Kurumi realizes how compatible they are together. Miyamura Yukari: Classmates with Yuki whom they have been neighbors since kindergarten until high school started when they were finally put into different classes.
Storyline of Horimiya:
The season ends with the central couple’s graduation and a happy ending that leaves no loose ends in need of tying up. So, will horimiya have a season 2 . Let’s take an overview of horimiya. With their identical features and demeanors, high school students Yachi Haruaki and Yukimura Ayumi are classmates but not friends. Although they’re often mistaken for siblings, they’re father and daughter. This is where our story begins—or rather, where it would have begun if Haruaki weren’t such a perverted idiot who can’t seem to keep his mind out of the gutter around his beautiful daughter.

Sequel Is Coming?
It would be so nice to see our favorite high school couple get their happily ever after! It’s safe to say that they were all hoping for a second season of Horimiya. There are no official plans for one at present, but there are no official plans yet for the third season of My Hero Academia. If you look back on how long it took between seasons 1 and 2 of MHA (well over two years), it seems likely that viewers will have to wait longer than that before they can see what happens next with Horiman (just like Deku and Uraraka)! I’m sure it’ll be worth waiting for, though. I mean, look at them.
Expect From Horimiya Season 2
The first season of Horimiya ended with a happy ending, and no story left to tell. However, as with most anime that feature multiple seasons, it’s hard to imagine there not being a second season in some form or another. There is certainly more material available to create a second season, and it could pick up where the first one left off. Another possibility is that each episode might focus on a different character or explore their lives through side stories as OVAs do. In either case, I’m hoping for another slice-of-life series about everyday life featuring Chihaya and Miyamura because it was fantastic.
