Many of us follow artists, actors, and other famous people out of our love for their contribution to their field. We often use these people as inspiration in our lives in a variety of ways. Body image is one of the most common things people struggle with, and most people find themselves comparing their bodies to that of celebrities’ at some point. The following are a few celebrities that completely changed their look by losing weight. We can all use some inspiration for our weight loss journey.
Magician Penn Jillette
If there ever was a story of a magical transformation by losing weight, this would no doubt be it. For Penn Jillette weight loss was so unexpected and drastic, that his fans were shocked by his appearance when it was first revealed—much like he would shock them by his performance. The magician reportedly lost around 100 pounds, which is no small feat. Not only that, but this weight loss transformation was achieved in a mere three months following his hospitalization for high blood pressure. This is an example of someone who realized how he needed to get in shape and just did what had to be done. According to him, he follows a nutritarian diet.
Comic Actress Rebel Wilson
The Australian actress was well known for her comedic roles in several feature films. She is known for her strong support of the body positivity movement, and most of her career she was severely overweight. Recently, she had declared that 2020 would be her “year of health”, and she lost a significant amount of weight. By exercising for six days a week and following a strict dietary regimen, she was able to lose over 60 pounds and transformed her look substantially. She is still considered overweight, but has come a long way since her initial weight. It seems that she isn’t stopping any time soon, and her acting career is still thriving.
Once considered one of sexiest women in the music industry, Christina Aguilera gained a lot of weight in the years since. When she was a judge on the popular reality TV series The Voice, fans could see a stark difference between her overweight (and possibly obese) figure and the figure they were accustomed to in her music videos in the 90s and 00s. Nonetheless, Aguilera lost a great amount of weight in 2015 once she left The Voice, stating that taking time off her hectic schedule helped her focus on getting back in shape.
The bottom line is that celebrities are people just like us, and they suffer from weight fluctuation just as we all do. Use the aforementioned weight loss examples from these celebrities as inspiration to start your own weight loss journey and start getting back in shape. All it takes is two weeks to start developing a habit, and then the rest gets easier. While many famous people have access to weight loss methods and body shaping procedures that many of us don’t, it seems many still lose weight the old fashioned way.
